Hosted by Barony of Bergental - Springfield, MA
Greetings and gracious felicitations, all ye good gentles!
It is that time of year once again, with the leaves fallen and the air now crisp with pending snow. It is also that time for the Barony of Bergental to welcome all unto the Great Hall to enjoy the company of friends; to entertain and to be entertained; to browse the wares of merchants... In all, a time to come together in fellowship and enjoy the season! If you perchance attended the Coronation of Gryffith & Aikaterine, you may well remember the lovely architecture and ambience of the site.
In addition to the companionship many find so welcoming in Bergental, there will be a compentition and display of the Arts & Sciences, so please bring your works unto the hall. Negotiations with the local constabulary are currently underway to permit a traditional boar hunt in the forest behind the Manor, so be assured that an opportunity to test your mettle among the trees is being planned.
And, if that weren't enough, there is ample space for merchants, musicians, crafters, board games, families and friends to gather in the opulent parlors. In that Yule is generally a time for families, our youngest members will not be forgotten, as an area dedicated to the young at heart will be made available. Interests for the young there will be, however, child care is the parents responsibility.
To finish off the day, a Grand Feast will be prepared to fill the most particular appetites by Lord Odbald, Mistress Eleanore and the Companie d' Quisoniere. It is said amongst the populace that it is unheard of to leave the board of a Bergental feast hungry or unsatisfied by the quality of the fare. Entertainments will be presented during the various removes, and an auction will be held to benefit the baronial hosting of the Runnymeade Dinner at Pennsic. Feast space is limited, so pre-register early to guarantee your place on board.
The site opens at 9AM and closes at 9PM. Anyone remaining behind will be graciously thanked for their assistance in cleaning up.
Notes: This site is bone-dry and has a strict non-smoking policy on the grounds, so please plan accordingly. If you have an item to donate for the auction, please contact the event steward listed below.
