January so far....

Maîtresse Elwynne Rowenna of Wentworth has taken over the position of Webminister for the Bergental website. Maître Lyle fitz William remains Deputy Webminister.

This December Past

At Bergental's Baronial Court at the BBM/Bergental Yule Feast, gifts were given by their excellencies the Baron and Baroness of Bergental, to their highnesses, Edward and Marguerite, Crown Prince and Princess of the East. Their Excellencies of Bergental also exchanged gifts with their Excellencies of Barony Beyond the Mountain.

Lady Brangwyne of Wentworth was welcomed into the Order of the Hourglass. She embroiders and makes clothing, but in particular her work in calligraphy graces a number of scrolls and she has been of great service to the arts.

Sir Tommaltach issued a challenge to all the fighters of Bergental, both those who reside here and who consider Bergental their home.  His lovely lady, Baroness Fiona, is making a special favor with a gauntlet depicted on it, that he will wear to all practices, tournaments, and battles.  Bergental fighters may challenge him for the right to bear this favor, and must best him in three different weapon forms.  (Exception on wearing the favor is battles at Pennsic, where the risk of losing the favor somewhere on the field or in the woods is too high).  The purpose of the challenge is for the warriors of Bergental to grow in martial prowess and to promote greater variety in martial skills.  Should a challenger best Sir Tommaltach in three different weapon forms, the challenger shall take up the gauntlet favor and the challenge to other warriors of Bergental will continue.  The gauntlet has been thrown down! Who will pick it up?

 

Crown Tourney

Crown Tourney was held on October 31 in the Shire of Quintavia. The new heirs to the Crown are

Edward Grey of Lochleven and Marguerite ingen Lochlainn, Prince and Princess of the East!
