After having my ears saturated with stories about the SCA from my sister, Mistress Eleanore MacCarthaigh, I ventured a visit to my first event, Novice Schola 2001. (My sister promised we would make millions doing Henna designs and this was our first attempt... I'm still waiting for the millions) I was so impressed with the people I met, the "costumes" they wore, the friendly atmosphere, and the food, that I was hooked. We started attending camping events to gear up for our first Pennsic that same year. Withing a few months I was an officer.

Since I joined I have received an Award of Arms, Troubador, and the Order of the Fountain. I have also stepped into the position of Seneschal of Bergental (after having served as both Chronicler and Deputy Seneschal). I've also become very involved in the Bardic Arts and have aquired and learned to play the Celtic Harp.

The office of the Seneschal takes on the role of the Business Manager of the Barony. My job is to carry out SCA policies and laws... basically, I am to make sure that what is supposed to happen, happens!

I am incredibly proud of the Barony in which I belong. I have come to know so many good people and look forward to every new member.
